Improvisational Music
When I play piano, most of the time I am improvising. What does that mean?
I take the chords of a song and go with the flow without much of a plan. I’ve played the songs many times in different ways and styles.
This video is a great example of a discovery I made on the spot. I learned this blues groove when I was in New Orleans and I instantly combined it with Caravan (a Jazz standard) on the spot. For me, this was an incredibly discovery.
Excellent…but I hear the Entertainer by Scott Joplin; Caravan must be the one I recognize but don’t know the name of.
Ah, and Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, that’s another.
